so in the preorder pack, we are to get 3 new items, the glacial blade, the hourglass staff, and the darksteel long bow. correct? guildwars.com states that these are based on the winners from the design a weapon contest. http://www.guildwars.com/press/relea...2007-07-17.php
now, i dont see any weapons that look similar to the names "darksteel long bow" or hourglass staff". http://www.guildwars.com/events/cont...signaweapon07/ When they say "based" do they mean sort of like but not exactly or just the 3D rendering of what people drew. The melandrus bow thingy doesnt look "darksteel" at all to me, nor does the "bone dragon staff" look any hourglass(y).

Also, do u think that the bonus mission pack will have any weapon rewards for prizes, cuz i think i read something about there being unique rewards for those. who knows?

I have been wondering the same thing. The glacial blade name kinda fits the sword but I see nothing that looks like an hourglass and there is only one bow and it certainly does not look like steel of any kind to me. Of course the weapons wont look exactly like the pics on the contest page so maybe the bow will be formed from steel and not end up being the urgoz longbow: X rated edition.

The real thing that is bothering me is that some of the skins are really awesome looking. It will be a shame that they may turn up being a great skin only available as a preorder item with mods that noone is gonna use except on a new low level character or maybe a hero until they can find something better. I really hope that they don't turn out to be destined for a new presearing toon or a low level hero. Think about it, when was the last time you actually saw someone using a preorder item, i see them all the time but never anywhere except presearing.

Since Eye of the North is all for your high level characters though what I hope to see is the preorder items actually useful to a high level character. It would be even better if they came as a max damage req 8 or 9 item with an open inscription slot and no mods so you could mod them how you wanted.

Maybe they refer to finalist entries ie. designs that didn't quite make it to the top ten. If they -however- are in the pictures I cannot but laugh my rear end off: just when you thought Anet had done everything possible to piss you off they figure out something new and top that.

I've been typing /bonus a hundred times since I added that key from the prerelease package, I don't get anything. I tried it on all my chars, it never works. All i get are the ones I already could get, like the fiery sunspear, daggers and spiritbinder, and those gw2006 weapons

Anyone else where the prerelease pack doesn't work?

no way!? it was never that way with previous pre-release packs. You had the weapons long before such an expansion came out. This pre-release pack is kinda stupid then... it contains nothing else of interest. The dvd has a nightfall trailer on it... so lame. And you don't even get your weapons...

personaly if the glacial blade is based of the blue blade that was designed byAndre Roux id be very happy indeed coz he has style lol
